The Institute of Health and Care Sciences offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as individual academic courses within the first and second cycle of higher education. Basic training courses for nurses and radiographers lead both to a professional degree and a bachelor's degree. Training of midwives and specialist nursing with different orientations are professional registration in combination with master's degree. All professional programs lead to professional registration. Moreover, courses are offered at the advanced leve!, which give opportunity for continued studies to a master's degree in one of the institute's main topics; nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography and health care pedagogics. The institute offers a postgraduate programme leading to a PhD degree in Health Care Sciences.
SUBJECT AREA DESCRIPTION: In nursing knowledge is developed about health and a good life despite illness or disability and a peaceful and dignified death. In nursing, it is not illness or disability, but person's experience, interpretation and reactions to illness and disease that is focus.
JOB ASSIGNMENTS: The responsibilities include course coordination, lecturing in supervision at an undergraduate and advanced level in freestanding courses as well as within the institute's programmes including the PhD programme. The position also involves supervision and examination of courses at an undergraduate and advanced level within the institute's programmes. Further the responsibilities include developing and coordinating learning objectives, learning activities, assessments and assessment criteria in relation to the content, purpose and pedagogical research and also to assure the quality of the education on the basis of validated forms of evaluation. The holder of the position is expected to actively aim at achieving the objectives of the institute's business plan and also to participate in planned meetings and activities held at the institute. The holder of the position is also expected to actively initiate and apply for external funding. The applicant is expected to teach in Swedish.
ELIGIBILITY: PhD Degree, shown pedagogical skills and qualification as a registered nurse.
ASSESSMENT: First assessment criterion are pedagogical and scientific skills. Of utmost importance will be the quality and width of the teaching merits from nursing programmes as well as the applicant's current research on the subject at the time of the appointment. Moreover, it is advantageous to have experience from supervising projects, leading or being involved in funding applications and having clinical experience. Further, a proven ability to cooperate and being flexible in collaboration with lecturers and students and the possession of administrative skills is advantageous. The candidate is expected to teach in Swedish. The successful applicant may also be asked to complete an educational program within the first year of employment.
