The University of Skövde is an expansive university that offers traditional and unique educational programs within a number of different areas.The University employs at the present time approx.500 people with 8200 students and constitutes an important resource for regional development. The School of Technology and Society is looking for a Senior Lecturer in social psychology This is a position in social psychology which is, at the University of Skövde, broadly defined as the study of the human being within a social and cultural context, with major foci on interpersonal, individual-group, and intergroup interactions.The discipline includes several research topics that are studied via a variety of research methods and theoretical perspectives.The position incumbent is expected to conduct research and teach a variety of social psychology courses (preferably in both in English and Swedish) as well as performing certain administrative duties.The position is a permanent employment that comprises 100 %.The qualification requirements are: * Doctoral degree, or equivalent competence, in social psychology, psychology, social work, or in other relevant disciplines * Course credits in educational psychology, pedagogic, or corresponding instructional training * Documented teaching skills.Additional criteria that will be considered in the selection process: * Broad knowledge in social psychology, especially in social cognition * Research and teaching experience in quantitative methods * Advanced knowledge in psychology, especially in group psychology * Ability to cooperate and suitability to carry out assigned tasks properly * The degree to which the qualifications required of position candidates are met * Administrative and other skills of importance for the management of assigned tasks * Skills relevant to the development and leadership of personnel and activities at the university * Ability to cooperate with the surrounding society and provide information about research and development at the university.Special emphasis will be attached to the applicant's broad knowledge in social psychology, especially in social cognition and research and teaching experience in quantitative methods Those who are offered employment and have no knowledge of Swedish when becoming employed shall be prepared to be able to take on administrative and pedagogical tasks that require knowledge of Swedish within a couple of years.Since the University of Skövde Sciences targets a more equal gender distribution among its lecturers, the school would very much welcome female applicants.Information about the position is provided by Nomie Eriksson., Department Chairman.The application must be submitted with an attested list of qualifications, brief written account of scientific, pedagogical and other activities (including future work plans and development within respective activity),certificate of pedagogic education at university level or account for equivalent education, list of publications and work referred to, no more than five scientific publications (a minimum of two published during the last three years) and no more than five work intended for documenting the pedagogical proficiency.All documents must be submitted in three sets (in three identical folders).
