We are looking for a senior lecturer in Sport Science, with a specialisation in Sport Management for a permanent position at the School of Medicine and Health science.

Background
Örebro University is in an expansive phase in terms of both education and research, and the university has a long tradition of education and research in the field of sport.
At the Division of Sport Science, School of Health Sciences, the following programmes are currently given: the programme Sport management, the Sports Science and Coaching Programme, the Teacher Programme (specialization in sport and health) and the Master's Programme in Sports Physiology and Medicine. As one of three higher education institutions in the country, we have been pursuing postgraduate education in sports science since 2001 and currently have 11 doctoral students admitted.
The research in Sport Science is organized in a joint research environment RISPA (Research in Sport Science and Physical Activity) and, for social science research, in the research group ReShape (Research in Sport Health and Physical Education) which several externally funded projects. Sport management research is conducted by the research group Sustainable Sport Management.
In recent years, we have worked to develop a new sports management program that focuses on sustainability, practical application of knowledge through case methodology and internship training, as well as internationalization. Our vision for the programme is to educate individuals who plan, organize, lead and develop sustainable, inclusive, ethical and successful sport at all levels, within organizations and associations, authorities and businesses. The program started in the fall of 2021 and we are now looking for a person who feels great commitment to be involved and contribute to the program and its continued development.

Qualifications
Those qualified for appointment as a senior lecturer are applicants who have demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a doctoral degree in a subject matter relevant for the position or has the corresponding research competence or some other professional expertise that is of value in view of the subject matter of the position and the duties that it will involve.
A general eligibility criterion for teaching staff at Örebro University is that they have completed courses on teaching and learning in higher education corresponding to 10 weeks. Knowledge and skills equivalent to such courses may also be assessed to establish whether these provide eligibility. A teacher who at the time of appointment lacks such training or the equivalent competence, must complete the required courses no later than within two years of taking up the position.

This is a permanent full-time position, 100 %, with a preferred start date January 1, 2023. At Örebro University, salary depends on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, and positions announced are, where appropriate, subject to a trial period.
