Senior Lecturer in Textile Management (PA 2016/82)
The Swedish School of Textiles at the Faculty for Textiles, Engineering and Business is a centre for competence development within the sectors of textile and fashion. The School offers educational programmes at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels within the areas of artistic fashion and textile design as well as engineering, business and management. The many research activities are carried out in close collaboration with the industry.
The Department of Business Administration and Textile Management is currently seeking a Senior Lecturer in Textile Management.
Job description
Duties include teaching within the area of textile management focussing on fashion marketing and management, consumer behaviour and communication at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The position involves research within textile management as well as contributing to the development of the Faculty’s research environment, e.g. through supervision of doctoral students and applications for external funding. Furthermore you will participate in the development and planning of educational programmes and collaborate with other subject areas to enhance competence development in line with the university’s goals and vision. As a lecturer, you will perform the administrative duties connected to the teaching tasks and, if agreed, take on additional administrative tasks. The work will involve the development of contacts and collaboration with the surrounding community, both nationally and internationally.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in textile management, business administration, marketing or another field relevant to this position and will also have demonstrated good teaching competence within a field relevant to this position. Collaborating with colleagues is essential as is the ability to contribute to the development of the university’s research within textile management. A good command of both spoken and written English is an asset.
Experience of teaching and supervising at the graduate level and also of doing research within a field relevant to the position is required, as is experience of leading research, collaborating with business and industry and of applying for external research funding. Further, it is of particular merit if you have experience in leading developmental work within undergraduate education and if you have established international relationships and contacts with institutions of higher education abroad.
To qualify for a permanent position at the university, you must complete a course in academic pedagogical training. The course is offered by the employer and represents a work load of 10 weeks of full-time study. The studies can, however, be spread out over a longer period of time in the course of the first two years of employment.
