Arbetsbeskrivning
We are looking for two senior lecturers in Computer Science for permanent positions at the School of Science and Technology.
Subject area
The subject area for these positions is: Computer Science.
Background
We are looking for strong candidates to further strengthen our competences primarily in computer science but also in electrical engineering, in particular related to robotics and autonomous systems. Topics of interest include signal and image processing, robot manipulation, robot perception, machine learning, motion planning, multi-robot systems, and collaborative and social robotics.
These positions are connected to the Centre of Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems (AASS), which carries out multi-disciplinary research at the intersection of computer science, robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computer vision. AASS is one of Sweden’s largest research environments in robotics and AI and was established in 1998. Our research is often done in close partnership with world-leading corporations as well as the public sector, and our research contributions are recognised worldwide. Nationally, the research in AI and robotics at Örebro is leading, and this is evidenced by the University’s involvement in a number of high-profile initiatives related to AI (see oru.se/ai). Örebro University is a modern, broad-based, and growing university, and artificial intelligence is a strong priority here. We endeavour to be an attractive place of work where members of staff feel a sense of pride and satisfaction. Moreover, teaching encompasses supervision, examination, course development, planning and evaluation.
As a university lecturer in computer science you will dedicate yourself to both research and education. We offer BSc and MSc engineering programmes in computer science, as well as a programme for working professionals. Courses include programming, electronics, robotics, image processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, etc. The languages of teaching are Swedish and English.
Suitable candidates will have opportunities to take on management roles in both research and education (in terms of leading your on group inside AASS, or shaping the education programmes), and in other ways influence and develop the activities at the centre.
