We are expanding our Legal team (https://jobs.funnel.io/departments/legal) and are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join us! Are you experienced in commercial software contracts, have a strong commercial mindset, and enjoy finding ways to improve and grow a business? What you will do
You will be focusing on commercial business contracts and supporting projects across the full range of subject matters supported by the Legal team. Main responsibilities include:

- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements, with customers, collaboration partners and service providers. Primary focus will be on our SaaS customer contracts.
- Providing legal advice to all teams across the business, summarizing and communicating legal concepts and risks in a meaningful way for their daily activities.
- Designing and managing processes to positively impact the Legal team’s efficiency and effectiveness, ranging from compliance to Legal Operations initiatives.
- Implementing and improving legal department tools to streamline new or existing practices.
- Providing training and support to team members sharing your knowledge within the Legal team and in relation to other departments.
- Defining strategic objectives for legal operations improvements, and establishing and providing regular reporting on efficiency initiatives.
- Supporting and managing a variety of ad hoc projects within the company and group as they arise - we continue our growth journey and are heading toward an IPO so there will certainly be new opportunities and challenges to dig into!


The team
You will be based in the Stockholm office and report to Victoria (https://www.linkedin.com/in/victoria-sorving/), our Chief Legal Officer, and work together with colleagues in Stockholm and Boston. We continuously share updates, our experience and make sure we use the expertise of the team. We are keen to keep the team accessible and approachable for the entire business, striving to be business partners and enablers of the business rather than bottlenecks. We support the group companies in Sweden, the USA, the UK and Ireland. We are embracing new solutions in terms of delivering legal advice - and generally communicate in open Slack channels, some by emoji triggered responses, rather than by classified memos. While the advice needs to be on point, we will spare the legalese to make sure that everyone understands our messaging.


Who you are
To thrive in this role, it is important that you enjoy the scale up culture and that you are flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a rapidly evolving environment. In a small team you must be able to work independently and collaborate, while also being keen to bring your expertise to and learn from other colleagues in other business units. Further, we believe that you have:

- A master of laws degree
- ~6-8 years of work experience in commercial software contracts, preferably SaaS contracts, intellectual property matters, business development and technology transactions, at a law firm and with in-house experience with technology companies
- Extensive commercial contract drafting and negotiation experience
- Understanding of data driven services and the data protection aspects that go hand in hand with such
- Proven track record of collaborating successfully with cross-functional teams (e.g. Sales, Success, Finance, Information security, People) delivering business-oriented and actionable legal advice


Personality traits we are looking for in you:

- Strong communication skills and ability to simplify highly complex problems with an open and friendly approach
- A commercial mindset where you take initiatives as you reflect on your work
- Willing and eager to take on projects involving unfamiliar subject matters


It is a big bonus if you have

SaaS in-house counsel experience, digital marketing experience, privacy/data protection experience, and legal operations experience.

Other information

This role is located in Stockholm and we offer a hybrid-remote setup which means you can work some days from the office and some days from home. We are not offering a fully remote setup for this role at this time. Unfortunately, we are not able to support relocation at the moment and therefore we will take into consideration only applicants that:

- Hold Swedish citizenship;
- Hold EU/EEA citizenship; or
- Have a valid work permit for working in Sweden
