Senior Level Designer

About the job

Arrowhead is now looking for a Senior Level Designer to join our growing design team. As a Senior Level Designer you’ll create and build levels within our AAA-project, a 3rd person co-op shooter style game. You will play an essential role in helping the team set standards with your designs and visions. Together with the lead level designer you’ll mentor and guide a team of passionate level designers.

We’re looking for someone with a strong sense of moment-to-moment gameplay, who enjoys building relatable and believable environments and has a wide theoretical understanding of game design. You’re capable of working on your own assignments independently as well as being part of strike teams with a wide range of other specialists.

Your contribution
As a Senior Level Designer, you:

- Work closely with the Game Director on realizing the game concept;

- Create layouts for levels;

- Manage world generation setups;

- Create locations to benchmark quality for other designers to follow;

- Design and setup in game missions and objectives;

- Mentor and train a team of designers together with the Lead Level Designer.


Our requirements
Do you also recognize yourself in:

- Several years of experience in the (PC/Console) games industry (working as a level / world designer);

- Deep understanding of gameplay and game engagement;

- Good grasp of artistic and storytelling skills;

- Strong Design Fundamentals;

- Experience with game object scripting;

- Passion for leading and guiding others;

- You are well versed in the English language, both verbal and written.


Bonus
A passion for learning about subjects outside of Game Development.

Experience with a range of different engines



Practical information
Scope: Full-time: 40 hours per week.

We offer a permanent position and can offer relocation aid.

Location: Stockholm, however working remotely can be discussed for the right candidate.
