We’re looking for a Senior Localization Manager
You’ll make sure our games are localized well into all the official languages and support our community translators to help them bring our games into the languages they want. You’ll aid all our teams in building localization-friendly games right from the start and help your teammates prepare and go through the localization itself later. By implementing best practices and creating clear internal processes that are easy to follow, you ensure timely and smooth localization when the time comes. You will also work on developing our approach to localization and hiring or growing localization managers within the project teams and studios themselves depending on the company needs. You’ll take initiative to improve processes, promote best practices and exchange experience between the teams, and ultimately make sure that the localization is factored in from the very beginning, gets enough attention throughout the project, is planned well, and goes smoothly when the time comes.
What you will do
· Oversee setting up and managing localization processes for our games
· Build a team of localization professionals within Coffee Stain Publishing
· Support the people responsible for localization in studios we publish
· Check the projects early on for potential localization-related issues and work with the game teams to avoid and fix them
· Work with producers and teams to create localization strategies and timelines
· Choose, train, and work with localization vendors and support translation communities
· Choose and create the tools we use for the job: CAT tools, automation, etc.
· Proactively highlight and escalate risks, internal timelines, and dependencies to stakeholders
· Be the expert on localization and support all teams with your knowledge
Your skills and experience
· Expert understanding of localization and UI in Unreal Engine and Unity
· Good technical skills to automate processes and work with developers on tools
· Expert understanding of CAT tools and localization tech
· Thorough, diligent, and process-oriented with superb organizational skills
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Able to juggle multiple projects and prioritize effectively under pressure
· Have extensive previous experience in localization, people, and vendor management
About Coffee Stain (Publishing)
We are a small publishing team of about a dozen people that care deeply for every game we make, not just the one closest to release or the one that’s the most successful right now. We help each other out and being supportive is important to us, we believe that people are at their best when they’re supported and trusted.
We frequently engage with each other around the games we're working on and playtests are a natural part of our day-to-day regardless of the role we have. We’re also part of a larger family with different studios and partners that we collaborate closely with.
We can be flexible to accommodate your individual needs to make sure you have the right prerequisites to do your job and we allow for a healthy balance of working from home and working from the office, even outside of the consequences of the pandemic. We do however like to see each other in the office in person a number of times in any given week if we can, but some on the team work from Skövde, Göteborg, and Malmö, though the majority are located in Stockholm.
We also believe that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind, so on top of the wellness grant, you get some paid time off to work out. Did we mention there’s a gym right beside our office?
