What’s in it for you? 
Senior Engineer Logistics, Core & Annual is a key role in the team belonging to the sub-unit Manufacturing Technology. 
This position is for the new coming subunit VCPC Volvo Car Propulsion Components 
You will be working with an engaged and diverse team of logistics engineers, Core ME and Process teams that are Subject Matter Experts in their respective field of responsibility.
This key logistics role gives a unique exposure to the product creation process at Volvo Cars as well an opportunity to impact the global logistics strategies and standards of a growing global industrial footprint in a truly cross functional process.
Location Gothenburg.

What you’ll do.
You will have the functional responsibility for:
•    Developing logistics strategies, requirements and standards related to plant material handling solutions for global implementation, following the Volvo Cars Manufacturing System.
•    Concept planning in new car programs before start of production with the objective to secure that logistics strategies, requirements and standards are included in the industrialization phase in a quality and cost-efficient manner. 
•    Creation of generic ideal layouts (whole site and/or individual areas) for logistics processes while securing the application of lean principles. 
•    Drive and protect commonality, standardisation, and cost efficiency in all key processes and across plants with a global alignment of standards in key areas. 
•    Develop strong interfaces and relationships with key stakeholders including Program Management and Manufacturing Engineering.

Do you fit the profile?
To be successful in this role you should have experience in logistics and material handling in a manufacturing logistics environment. We do believe you have an university degree in Logistics or equivalent. 
It will be a plus, if you also have experience of developing concepts including experience of applying lean principles and experience from project management. 
We believe that you are a strong communicator who is fluent in English both oral and written, as this is a global position where contacts around the world is daily business.
