Strong project management practices (Schedule, risk, communication and stakeholders management, budget assessment and management), strong oral and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to interface with both customers and internal stakeholders, at the day to day technical level and executive reporting level.
Proven experience in managing multiple projects in parallel as well as experience managing medium size teams (15-20 managers / PM).
Required experience:
At least 10 years of relevant experience managing service or product delivery based projects in a technical field
Past experience working for a software development service company or a technical consultancy company
Proven success working with large customers within the US
Experience with project P&L management and tracking is required
Assessing, updating, developing and managing an overall project plans, Agile/Lean processes
Experience in teams ramp-up and on-shore / off-shore teams alignment and coordination
Working in a PMO based environment is a plus
Proven excellent communications skills working with non-technical customers, internal teams, including customer project leads, managers and executives.
Job Responsibilities
The Director of Program Management will act as the main point of contact for on-site US-based projects and project managers.
As part of this role, the director of project management will oversee the projects’ portfolio schedules, cost, will provide team leadership and customer deliverables coordination.
Specifically, S/he will:
Provide coaching and leadership for on-site project managers
Be a ‘go-to’ person for all local project management practices and methodologies
Coordinate and manage activities for smaller accounts (without a dedicated project manager)
Manage and coordinate communication between the local teams and the customers alongside the account managers
Manage risk and issues including mitigation plan management together with the local project managers
Ensure that performance, cost, schedule and quality is maintained within standards across the portfolio
Provide regular and timely projects portfolio updates to GlobalLogic management
