Northvolt has a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager Automation and Controls with a technical background in industrial automation systems. You will help build one of the first large scale European battery factories in Poland. As an manager at Northvolt, you will play a critical part in supporting and growing people in our Automation team. You will make sure they thrive in their roles and have access to all the tools, training and coaching they need. As somebody with a strong technical background, you will also help guide and shape the design of our solutions and be an important influencer in our technology and architecture choices. You will help us build a strong culture, facilitate technical delivery and work with us to continuously improve the way we work

Skills & Requirements
Key responsibilities:
Lead the Automation & Controls team, including strategy, vison and day to day management.
Manage, grow and guide a team of engineers establishing healthy processes, and general support.
Make sure our way of working and agile development practices are clear, modern and suited to bring out the best of the team.
Be part of the Automation management team and cross-functional collaboration on business needs, deliverables, and culture. You will collaborate with other managers in software, material flow, electrical engineering, IT, and infosec.
Design and implement automation systems for advanced factories, consisting of conveyors, vision systems, AGV’s and specialized manufacturing equipment
Identify and interact with key automation solution suppliers, including assembly equipment, robotics, AGV’s, motion control suppliers.
Defining and development of automation requirements specification and control system architecture.
You have a deep understanding and hands-on experience of integrating very diverse, complex, equipment into higher automation layers developing some of the most advanced control systems in the world.
Skills & Requirements:
Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or similar.
5-10 years of experience within Industrial Automation in automated manufacturing environments such as: automotive, semiconductors, pharmaceutical, medical devices etc..
Demonstrated ability to work and lead with highly technical staff, and manage multiple tasks and objectives.
5+ years PLC/SCADA programming, especially Siemens TIA portal systems and ABB 800xA.
5+ years in OPC connectivity and MES interfaces
You have experience in driving innovative and challenging automation projects with very high demand on accuracy and scale.
Experience in writing technical documentation (Requirement specifications, Functional design, UML, Test Cases, Test Records)
Passionate by solving complex problems with technology in a simple yet innovative way
Track-record of successful implementation of advanced automation systems in relevant industries.
