Senior Manager Engineering – Material Flow
We are building a state-of-the-art Gigafactory that will be one of the largest cell production facilities in Europe. We are now looking for a Senior Manager Engineering – Material Flow to join our Engineering team!

Your future team
As the Senior Manager of our Material Flow Engineering team, you will lead a group of specialists and engineers specializing in material handling, packaging, factory layout and factory simulation. This team is currently focused on designing, planning, and equipping a world-class Gigafactory to commence production in 2026.
The Material Handling Engineers in your future team oversee internal logistics flow within the factory. They manage overall project management for advanced factories and warehouses related to industrial material flow engineering projects. Additionally, the Factory Layout and Simulation Engineers deliver operationally excellent factory and simulation designs, while Packaging Engineers are responsible for inbound packaging requirements and design specifications for advanced factories and warehouses.
Together, these technical disciplines create a diverse team aiming to be part in producing the world’s most sustainable lithium-ion batteries. Your primary role will be to lead this team in establishing the Gigafactory in Torslanda!
What You Will Do
Your primary responsibility will be overseeing all aspects of engineering management within to the team. You will focus on team growth, competence development, and long-term employee satisfaction. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in facilitating cross-functional integration with relevant engineering teams to define interfaces for advanced real-time monitoring, production control, and optimization.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing engineers and suppliers against tight deadlines, optimizing factors such as quality, capacity, CAPEX, OPEX, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Manage projects, timelines, budget, and track progress within respective engineering departments or teams.
- Establish and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
Skills & requirements:
To thrive in this role, you should possess extensive project management experience in demanding industrial environments. A broad technical background in material handling, packaging, or factory design or simulation engineering is necessary.
Ideally, you also have demonstrated engineering leadership experience in a fast-growing environment, particularly within the battery cell, semiconductor, electrochemical, automotive or food and pharmaceutical industries.
As an individual, you are highly execution-oriented, possess excellent time management skills, and thrive on leading your team by building trust and empowering your team. You have a genuine passion for technology, innovation, and people.
We believe that you have:
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical-, Industrial Manufacturing, Production Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in managing engineers and large-scale projects.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Experienced in managing people in multi-cultural environments.
- Ability to thrive under high pressure and meet tight deadlines.
