Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Senior Manager Green Factories to lead our passionate team responsible for ensuring the delivery of the world's greenest battery factories.

We are looking for a Senior Manager Green Factories with a strategic and innovative mindset, a passion for sustainability and a drive to make a real impact on the sustainable build-out of the European battery industry. As the Senior Manager Green Factories you will lead the Green Factories team and work cross-functionally throughout the organization to ensure that our factories environmental performance are best-in-class. The Green Factories team's mission is to deliver on Northvolt's vision of creating the world's greenest battery factories, supporting our bold expansion plans. This includes e.g. site selection and environmental permitting processes, scouting and driving technological solutions which integrate resource efficient, circular and innovative designs, defining and enforcing environmental performance roadmaps and targets throughout the organization, and supporting all parts of the organization in achieving best practice with regards to environmental and sustainability criteria. You will be reporting to our Head of Sustainability.
The Green Factories team is part of Northvolt's Sustainability & Environment team, which today consists of 11 professionals dedicated to setting, driving and enforcing sustainability requirements and roadmaps for the organization. The scope of the team includes e.g. Green Factories, supply chain sustainability, environmental projects, chemical compliance, sustainability impact assessments and roadmaps, and reporting and policy advocacy.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supporting Northvolt's expansion team in factory site selection processes, and leading the application for new environmental permits and changes to existing permits
Further development of Northvolt's Green Factory strategy, ensuring that the set-up of Northvolt's factories is clean, circular and innovative
Formulating and monitoring objectives, KPIs, improvement and innovation projects for improved environmental performance
Liaising with internal stakeholders across the organization to integrate the Green Factory vision across Northvolt's factory footprint and Blueprint
Supporting all parts of the organization in achieving best practice with regards to environmental and sustainability criteria
Leading a team responsible for, and taking active part in:
Leading projects for design & process improvements for increased circularity and resource efficiency
Developing technology & supplier library for green solutions and use cases
Monitoring, scoring and benchmarking regulatory requirements in relevant countries
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications/education/experience
Master's degree in engineering and/or experience in manufacturing or process industry
8+ years of relevant work experience
Experience in working with manufacturing industry, or energy and environmental systems within process industry
Familiarity with Swedish and European laws and standards
Strong leader with demonstrated experience in managing stakeholder relationships
Excellent spoken and written English. Proficiency in Swedish an advantage but not a requirement
Experience working with environmental permitting processes is an advantage but not a requirement
