Volvo Cars Torslanda, is part of Volvo Cars global production organization, manufactures the majority of our SPA products in a fast-moving operation. What you’ll do
As Senior Manager Shop Engineering VCT Paint, you will lead and manage the shop engineering team with the purpose to secure line balancing, ergonomics, efficiency targets, capacity, continuous improvements and act as a support function in technical matters.
You will take part of developing forecasts and analytical models for productivity improvements that supports our Lean journey; help drive initiatives and follow how these activities improve our shop’s result towards our vision.
You will work in close cooperation with the whole organization such as Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Plant Engineering, IT as well as other parts of Volvo Cars. You must be able to build commitment to the team, drive development of the business, develop VCMS, reduce losses and drive operations towards Business Excellence. Organizing work and resources in such a way that the company's goals in the short-, medium- and long term meet effectively is key in this role.
In order to be successful in this role you must be able to lead the team in a way that supports the Volvo Cars culture and wanted leadership behaviors. Furthermore, we expect you to optimize the business cross functionally within the given bill of process. Other responsibilities include performance management, competency development, knowledge sharing and resource allocation according to requirements of the business.

To be successful in this role, you must have significant leadership experience in a formal position, with the ability to both lead and motivate employees. You should have a strong interest in leadership and in developing people - you are highly successful in bringing out the best in others. You find energy and motivation in releasing people’s potential, allowing them to grow. Thanks to your excellent communication skills, you can create strong and trustful relationships.
You have a University degree and are fluent in English, both written and spoken. You have an engineering background or equivalent. Previous experience from manufacturing and Paint and/or product development is a requirement. You are able to build confidence and trust at all levels of the organization and you have a holistic view and are goal oriented. As a Senior Manager Shop Engineering, you will be a member of the management team and report directly to the Senior Director of Paint Shop VCT.
