Johnson & Johnson Vision in Uppsala produce the ophthalmic viscoelastic device Healon. We manufacture our products from scratch. A substance is produced from raw materials and is through different steps in production processed to finished products. The whole process takes several days and monitored closely. A variety of quality assurance measures are made continuously. It is important that the product is free from particles, fibers and odor.

Improvements to the product and the process are made continuously to lift the organization to a more efficient level and to position ourselves in front of our competitors. At our site in Uppsala, there are many different tasks and employees with different experiences and skills. We are about 120 employees located in Uppsala and 8 400 employees worldwide within Johnson & Johnson Vision.

Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager
We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Johnson & Johnson Vision Site in Uppsala. The function IOL Platform Engineering Director, the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering will be responsible for the prioritizing and direction setting for Supply Chain Engineering delivering improvements and NPI activities enabling ongoing business growth and expansion.

Objectives Of The Position
Promote a customer centered approach with a Quality mentality aligned to cGMP’s and our Quality Systems.
Champion Safety in support of our Integrated Ownership of Safety Systems approach and the Implementation of all safety/environmental requirements.
Lead prioritization across multi-disciplinary and multi-functional teams to deliver business objectives/priorities in line with Customer service requirements & strategic Engineering objectives.
Implement tactical, strategic, and innovative activities supporting the growth and sustainability of base business and expansions to support New Products, Capacity and New Technologies.
Catalyst for OEE improvement initiatives and projects to deliver supply reliability, cost improvements and compliance.
Collaborative focus to proactively challenge existing paradigms, generate innovation thinking, enabling year over year growth, new products, process simplification and technology development.
Build, grow and encourage outstanding engineering talent and develop technical skills and knowledge to support future growth.
Ensure metrics for engineering performance are met and plans are in place to provide continuous improvement.
Analyze rationale, investment requirements, development timing, market potential, and return on investment for all engineering projects and activities.
Ensure activities are carried out efficiently and timely, to deliver manufacturability and reliable products/processes.
Responsible for that a standardized approach of project governance and management is used for all projects in project Portfolio (FPX methodology or similar).


What You Will Need To Succeed

To be successful you have ability to simplify strategy into simple actions, you are organized, have an analytical approach to problem solving with a track record of optimizing flow “pull of the customer”, cost management, process optimization and project delivery.

You have excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop win/win relationships with other teams and organizations. You are self-starting and self-motivated with highly developed interpersonal skills. Your communication skills both written and oral are outstanding and you have experience presenting complex data to all levels of leadership.

Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent (required). An advanced degree such as MBA, MSc/Ph.D. in Science, Engineering, or a related field (merit).
A minimum of 5 years relevant business and management experience (required) with experience in a regulated Life Sciences industries (Medical Device, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical) (preferred).
Experience in manufacturing equipment/process development, Validation including design of experiments, Statistical Analysis, Equipment Life Cycle Management (required).
Proven project management of capital and improvement projects (required).
PMP or comparable Certification and familiarity with J&J Project Management approaches (FPX & Project Delivery Process) (merit).
Proficient in Swedish and English language (required).
Uppsala work location (required).
