We are looking for a Senior Market Adviser to join the Department for International Trade (DIT), to oversee and deliver trade work in Sweden and were synergies arise in sectors across Europe.
The role of the Senior Market Adviser is to provide strategic direction for trade development for UK companies. This position will lead DIT Stockholm's efforts in Technology and be part of the Defence & Security team. This is achieved via undertaking research, developing local networks to uncover opportunities and creating platforms for UK companies in Sweden. Ultimately matching Swedish demand with UK supply. The position also involves wider European work, market access and trade policy activity. In addition, there will also be sector horizon scanning and reactive work that falls outside of core work.
What you will do:
. Identify Swedish high value opportunities through research and engaging with local contacts, stakeholders, organisations etc. Develop a range of activities under the Tech and Defence and Security sectors to match the needs of the market with UK expertise. Assist companies to win business in market.
. Develop the working around Overseas Direct Investment to Sweden and support the team members to deliver on targets. Monitor market access, and support trade policy for Sweden (related to sector responsibility).
. Horizon scan for new opportunities outside of the main campaign.
. Full key account management, including some routine administration and follow up throughout the process.
. Understand the UK offer by building networks within Tech and Defence & Security as well as with HQ and regional colleagues. Produce business cases to support campaigns, author briefs for VIP visits and other governmental communication.
. Identify leads and opportunities for British business and deliver a range of services to support the delivery of DIT country targets. Contribute to the wider DIT activity and Embassy team in Sweden.
. Line management and coaching of two trade advisers

Additional information:
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), fixed term position with a duration of 12 months, with a possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearance.
