Job Summary

An exciting opportunity opens within Base Materials. Our primary area of responsibility is to develop an ecosystem of suppliers that have the capability to secure sustainable, competitive, and qualified base materials that are delivered to our factories with consistent customer focused quality level, - and to support the Tetra Pak material innovation agenda.
We are looking for two Material Engineers that will have a key role in developing suppliers’ capability, especially within the area of paperboard, to support Tetra Pak’s ambitions in quality and sustainability
The position is permanent and based in Lund and will include some travelling.
What you will do
You will be a part of a central competence center available for the Tetra Pak organization which handle base material supplier management and development of paperboard specifications. You will work with Suppliers and Tetra Pak organisations when driving and supporting issue resolution activities, quality improvement and grade approval projects.
This role will put you in contact with key internal and external stakeholders across different functional and international borders. You will be reporting to the Paperboard Technology manager FSM Base Materials.
You will focus on
Manage technical relationships with suppliers ensuring good communication and collaboration in issue resolution and supply issues
Develop paperboard specification portfolio towards evolving customer demands
Assure suppliers’ compliance to specifications and push for supplier quality improvement
Support project organisation in qualification of new or modified paperboard grades to ensure collaboration and sourcing approach stays agile, while making best use of external analysis providers
We believe you have
Your educational background is a relevant university degree at a master’s level or above. You have solid knowledge about, and preferably also work experience from paperboard industry and related technologies or packaging material industry. Experience from auditing, BRC, converting of papers and food packaging applications as well as quality management and technology development is considered as a merit.
We are looking for you who are analytical which makes it easy for you to create a structure and keep track on many parallel issues. You are a good communicator and excellent at both spoken and written English.
You have a preference to collaborate, and the ability to manage internal and external relationships in a cooperative, diplomatic and successful manner. We also believe you can deal with ambiguity & continuous change in terms of work scope and challenges identified. You are an open person who actively shares knowledge with others. Building relations comes easy to you and you know how to balance listening with persuasion and helpfulness with firmness.
