Material Flow System Engineer
Northvolt has an exciting job possibility for a Material Flow System Engineer (e.g. Line Modelling, Conveyance Systems, Robots etc). You will play a vital role in designing the infrastructure for enabling an efficient and innovative material flow throughout the battery manufacturing process for our upcoming Gigafactories.
You will be a valued member of the Industrial Engineering & Material Flow Design department in the Global Manufacturing organisation and key to Northvolt's mission to enable the future of energy. You will be working intimately with best solution providers to design and implement a highly automated production process both in terms of efficiency and quality. You will have the unique chance to develop a material flow system that not only focuses on the equipment but also on the whole system to be optimised (e.g. Line Balancing, Capacity). You will be responsible for specifying the material flow needs for the equipment (conveyance systems, robots etc.) and the system in sum (capacity, line balancing etc.)
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Shape the future of material handling in the battery manufacturing environment by creating the best solution concepts with suppliers in the design phase for material flow automation systems in advanced factories
Coordinate and execute the design work of the equipment together with the suppliers and with other Northvolt departments (e.g. Equipment & Process Engineering, Purchasing, Digitalization, and Manufacturing)
Participate in design reviews, identify and close gaps in order to meet the target as a whole
Plan and establish capacity specs and targets (cycle time analysis)
Work with factory simulation to validate line capacities and develop flow paths
Partner with automation to implement the material flow concepts and system design into functions
in the FMS/WCS/FCS/MES

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
· Degree in Engineering (Industrial/Process/Production/Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Mechatronic or similar).
· Track-record of successful implementation of advanced technical projects/automation systems in a production environment
· Work Experience with Material Handling Solutions and Line Balancing
· Experience in Material Flow Software Simulations e.g. Siemens Tecnomatix is a plus
· 3+ years of experience within process-driven or discrete process industries such as: Packaging, FMCG, Mining, Paper Mill, Semiconductors, Fine Chemicals, Pharma, Food etc.
