About the job

As a Senior Material / Texture Artist you own the pipelines and quality of our in-game material assets and textures. You are the one shaping the future of how we handle materials. We’re talking about both organic materials such as gravel and dirt as well as other types of materials such as (plastic) debris. You work closely with fellow artists and programmers to ensure high quality of materials and ultimately create an internal library of materials for the studio.

You are the expert materials master and key link between artists and programmers to raise the bar for textures, find areas to raise quality and improve our current library of materials.

Your contribution

As a Senior Material / Texture Artist, you:

- Own all materials assets and textures, and create a new way of working with quality assets;
- Create benchmark materials and textures;
- Create an internal materials library;
- Work closely with both Artists and Programmers to develop material assets;
- Implement and maintain material pipelines together with other members of the Tech Art team and other stakeholders across our studio;
- Research new tools and techniques to create more efficient and visually appealing environments.


Our requirements

Are you an experienced (Technical) Artist, and do you love working on all different types of materials? Having an eye for detail and a quest for quality? Then you might be the one we’re looking for! Do you also recognize yourself in:

- You have 3 or more years of experience in the (PC/Console) games industry (working as a Material Artist, Texture Artist or similar);
- You know PBR rendering;
- You understanding light / material interactions, both in game engines and in physical world;
- You have excellent communication skills and are able to communicate with different disciplines such as artists and programmers;
- You work with current industry standard software, specifically Substance Designer;
- You are well versed in the English language, both verbal and written;It is a bonus you have created or worked with shaders using for instance HLSL.


Practical information

Scope: Full-time: 40 hours per week.

We offer a permanent position and for the right candidate we offer relocation aid.

Location: Stockholm, however working remotely can be discussed for the right candidate.
