We are now looking for a Materials engineer to join our team.

You will play a key role in the development of Azelio’s future product portfolio.

Your position

As part of the group that drives the development of new innovative technologies and future products, your main tasks will be to contribute to this work as well as evaluating and improving existing and competing technologies from a materials science perspective. To enable this, it is important to have an insight and curiosity in the areas of renewable energy systems and energy storage to develop compelling and profitable systems that meets customer energy and power requirements across the world.

 

As a materials specialist, you are the go-to person in the field of materials science for several functions in the company including design engineers, project lead and calculation/simulation. In your daily work, you will perform theoretical studies, set up tests for component verification, initialize and communicate external technical investigations, perform practical laboratory analyses and assist in the materials selection in the design and simulation work. It is expected that you assist in writing research proposals and collaborating with associated universities and research institutes. There will be elements of supervising MSc thesis works, attending conferences and writing technical papers.

 

You will work in the technical product teams to define the technical specifications, but you also perform individual materials scientific theoretical and practical studies. As member of these teams, you will assist in the implementation of technologies to the customer products.

 

Your profile

It is expected that you possess excellent knowledge within your field of expertise and also in the area of materials science. You have the ability to use your theoretical understanding into applied materials technology, communicate results both at a high level and in more detail and give recommendations to other functions in the company. You understand your colleague's technical challenges and have a strong driving force to facilitate and identify new solutions.

You have experience in the field of surface technology and coating solutions, e.g. thermal spray coating systems and CVD (chemical vapor deposition) and profound knowledge in working with metallic materials in all forms with focus on stainless steel, steel, cast iron, cast aluminium and Ni-based alloys. Furthermore, you have excellent understanding of the influence of post-processing treatments including heat treatment, welding and oxidation on the mechanical and physical properties of materials.

 

- Experience in working across competences and teams, internally and externally with other industry partners, research institutes and universities
- Sc., Lic. or Ph.D. degree in Engineering within the field of materials science or materials chemistry
- The ability to contribute with materials expertise in various projects, assess problems and provide recommendations and mitigations
- Be up to date with the development within the field of materials science through literature and your network
- Experience from laboratory and experimental work
- Ability to motivate yourself, set your own goals and work independently

 

You are eager to learn and want the opportunity to influence and implement new ideas. You have strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently in your area. You are fluent in English and have excellent oral and written communication skills for communicating with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.

 

You will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and report directly to the CTO.
