The Mechanical Engineering group within SCO IBP Engineering is responsible for the mechanical design towards the converting line within the SCO IBP organization, covering all converting technology areas such as printing, lamination, finishing and material treatment.
We are now looking for a Senior mechanical designer to join our Engineering team. In this role you will coordinate and lead a group of engineers to reach the technical objectives and secure the deliveries in the projects. You will also act as a mechanical designer in the projects, and will be main responsible for the design.
You will be deeply involved in development projects, working across the Converting Line organisation together with the different process areas (Printing, Lamination, Material treatment) and in collaboration with suppliers.
Main responsibilities
-Lead the Project team members to successful completion of the technical objectives and deliverables
-Maintain project plan and report progress to Project Manager
-Development and design of Converting equipment
-Drive and follow-up supplier development
-Securing design and functionality through Requirements management, Virtual Engineering and Technical Reviews
-Collaboration with converting factories
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, extensive experience from working in the area of mechanical design and a Master's degree in Engineering will be a requirement. Knowledge of mechanical design in the area of production machines, experience from international work and/or working closely with external partners and suppliers will be valuable.
As a person you are structured, analytical and have a high personal drive. You need to have a good technical understanding as well as good leadership skills and the ability to motivate a group of people. You also need to have a good understanding of how to set limits and communicate the main focus to the team.
Your English skills are excellent, written as well as spoken due to that you will work on a global market. Some travels will be part of the job.
