Do you want to make a difference in the world? So do our customer. That's why our customer has developed a system to treat ballast water and prevent invasive species from spreading between marine ecosystems. Since its launch in 2006, they have held a market-leading position and sell systems to shipowners and shipyards worldwide. They operate in a fast-paced market driven by environmental legislation, and now they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to help make a difference.
About the Job
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
Perform R&D activities related to the system, its components, and subcomponents.
Execute mechanical design, create drawings, and technical documentation needed for production, both for new product development and product care.
Conduct tests, verifications, and design reviews.
Generate and maintain product structures in PDM systems.
Provide technical support for the mechanical design of the system.
Communicate with other departments, suppliers, and production.
Stay updated with new technologies, design methods, and tools.
This position is based in Tumba, Stockholm, with up to 10 travel days per year.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, we believe you:
Hold a degree and have at least five years of work experience in mechanical design.
Have sound knowledge of CAD and PDM systems, particularly experience with Inventor for mechanical drawings.
Have knowledge of material properties, specifications, and standards.
Are a good communicator and fluent in both Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.
Experience in mechanical design in a maritime environment is desirable but not a must.
You also need to be a creative, self-driven person, who are outgoing with a strong motivation to solve problems, and while you are used to working independently, you gain energy from being part of a supportive and caring team.
What they offer:
Our customer offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where you will have the opportunity to impact the marine environment. You will be part of a highly motivated R&D team where we support each other to develop and create value.
The system product is marketed and sold entirely by our customer, and you will operate within their global organization, with many international contacts, both internally and externally.
Location:
Currently located in Tumba, our customer will relocate in the spring of 2025 to Flemingsberg, Sweden's largest urban business development area. They are creating a vibrant and dynamic workplace that aims to inspire both existing and future employees, providing an exceptional experience for employees, customers, and visitors.
The focus at the new location will be on people, with modern offices and a digital workplace designed to enhance productivity and well-being. Additionally, there will be a state-of-the-art high-tech lab dedicated to developing and testing products related to ballast water treatment and other technologies. An education center will also be part of this innovative setup.
