Senior Mechanical Engineer Brake System

Who are your new colleagues?
Vehicle Dynamics & Pneumatics is a design team within Chassis & and Driveline Development at Volvo Buses. We are responsible for developing brake, steering, suspension and pneumatic systems. We are a diverse team of 11 experienced engineers who support each other, share our knowledge and we have fun together at work!

What will you do?
As a senior mechanical engineer for brake systems you will build up a deep knowledge and a holistic view of the brake system. You will lead the development and integration of new components in our future chassis for our diesel and fully electrical buses. You will work in close cooperation with our Brake System owner, other areas of our team, suppliers and Volvo Group Trucks Technology. You will also work closely with our colleagues in our sister sites in Brazil and Poland as well as with our Volvo owned brands Prevost and Nova.

Who are you?
You are a team player with excellent communication and cooperation skills. Since you have substantial design engineering knowledge, you will have the ability and interest to technically drive the Brakes System area. We expect you to have a strong analytical side, problem-solving skills and a passion for technology. You are a positive person who display a driving force and a structured way of working.

Personal qualifications and skills
B.Sc./M.Sc. or equivalent education
Experience from automotive design engineering
Brake system experience is a merit, but it is not a mandatory experience if you are eager to take on and learn a new technical area
Experience in in CAD design
Good communication skills are essential and an ability to work both independently and in a team
Experience of Volvo Group product development processes and tools is a merit
