The Garpenberg Mine is is one of the world's most modern underground mines producing zinc, lead, silver, copper, and gold. Garpenberg is Sweden’s oldest mining area still in operation. We are now looking for a Senior Mining Engineer to Garpenberg.
About the job
The main responsibility and focus area as a Senior Mining Engineer will be producing the plan that guides the company and its financial strategy into the future. The work takes place in close collaboration with others in the planning department and with the production departments.
Responsibilities:
-Life of Mine and strategical plans
-Perform annual Budget, working closely with mid-term and short-term planning
-Support the forecast and monthly planning processes with long-term/strategical guidelines/inputs
-Undertake mine design optimization and economical assessment works
-Analyse operating information and identify areas of potential improvements
The position is a permanent employment. Working hours are daytime and you will report to Geology and Mine Planning Manager in Garpenberg.
Personal characteristics
We are looking for you who have good communications skills, and are used to work close with other departments and colleagues as, geotechnical engineers, geologists, surveyors etc. You are strategic and operative at the same time when it comes to drive projects and take initiative and give inputs to enable business development.
Education and other qualifications
We are looking for an engineer with a Master of Science within mining engineering, or the equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the mining industry as a mine planning engineer. Previous experience within mine planning and design of underground mines is a requirement. Skills using the Deswik, or similar mine planning software is an advantage. You should be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written in English. If you are proficient in Swedish that is a merit. Category B driving licence is a requirement.
