Volvo Cars is looking to redefine all aspects of the car eco-system including ownership, autonomous driving, vehicle electrification, sustainability, and online shopping. User Experience as a discipline is a key part of Volvo Cars' strategy and a newly formed UX organization will help gather insights about our users and redefine and elevate the user's experience of Volvo Cars products and Services.

The UX Guide team is a part of Volvo Cars Design. We are responsible for defining the tonality of our visual design language and securing a cohesive experience across all user experience platforms such as car, mobile, and web.

We are looking for an experienced motion designer to join our team.

What you’ll do
In your role as a motion designer you will through your work enhance and craft the user experiences always having the brand identity in mind. You will be able to explore and find new creative ways of telling the story with motion working in close collaboration with designers in our teams. Not only will you work with UI components, but you will also define how illustrations, infographics, icons, and 3D objects will move.

You will also
•    Define and design animated illustrations, UI components, and 3D models based on our brand personality.
•    Work with our visualization designers and explore new ways of mixing 3D with 2D motion incorporating user journeys and use cases.

Who you are
You have been designing for 6+ years for a consumer-focused company, so you understand what it takes to create elegant, consumer-oriented experiences. Industries you may have worked in could also be gaming. As an experienced motion designer, you can communicate designs and ideas with your team and stakeholders. You are a designer with excellent motion design skills using both 2D and 3D tools such as Adobe After Effects, VRED, and Unreal and who understands the full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design.

Through collaboration with other designers, you ensure a seamless customer experience across Volvo Cars' digital landscape. You are a strong collaborator, who can work with not only design partners, but many other stakeholders. You have a people-focused design mentality and constantly seek to hone your design instinct through user feedback.

In the role, you show as an internal thought-leader on user experience and motion design best practices and trends. You’re a strong communicator, who can inspire teams towards action and empathy for the user.
