For the Network Operations team we are now looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Network Engineer (f/m/d) who’s aiming to become member of an international team active in six countries supporting the Vattenfall business units while being located in the Vattenfall headquarters in Stockholm.
Your job as a Senior Network Engineer (f/m/d)
In your role you will act as an interface between our internal customer and our sourcing partner.
You should be passionate about the job and enjoy a fast-developing international working environment. Your working results will take customer satisfaction and Network delivery to the next level. Your job is to act as an interface between our internal customer and our sourcing partner. You’re also expected to support those areas that are not outsourced for legal reasons.
Your key tasks will include:
• Translate customer demands into solutions
• Maintain our product portfolio; develop/verify/agree network related standards, solutions and processes
• Quality assurance towards our sourcing partner for Datacenter-Network, LAN and WAN
- Check if proposals are fitting to the customer demands and to the Vattenfall standards
- Check if documentation was updated accordingly
- Check if lifecycle management is executed according to the agreements
• Cooperate with the Security Team (SOC)
• Check/follow-up root cause analyses provided by our sourcing partner after a critical incident occurred
• Support projects as a project resource for both, the outsourced and non-outsourced services
• Communicate / cooperate on several levels:
- Internal: monitoring team, solution architects, service managers, security and customer
- External: external providers and sourcing partner
• Business trips from time to time are required as a member of an international team
Your profile as a Senior Network Engineer (f/m/d)
• You have a relevant university degree and/or several years of experience within the field.
• You are open minded and willing to learn.
• You have at least 7 years of experience in network operations including practical knowledge in analyzing and solving IT problems in a complex landscape.
• You have an independent / autonomous workstyle while being a team player as well.
• You are a good communicator (fluent English) towards all kind of stakeholders (customers, IT department and suppliers/external partners).
• You have experience in steering of external partners.
• You have technical skills/experience in the following areas; relevant certifications are preferred:
- Cisco Routing/Switching, WLAN
- Understanding solution design and operation of IP, DNS (int./ext.) and DHCP
- Checkpoint/FortiGate Firewalling
- Good understanding of Proxies, Load Balancers and IPS devices is preferred
- RAS, VPN, Security Engineering and network overlays (VXLAN, SD-WAN)
- Usage of troubleshooting and diagnostic tools
- Experience with ITIL processes (incidents, changes, problems)
- Basic scripting knowledge (python, perl, …), experience in network automation
