About the job
As a Senior operations technician at Seabird data services you are involved in all aspects of the data farm system. This includes working with the processing equipment, networks, general maintenance and operating systems. You will troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical, IT, data processing equipment and ventilation malfunctions. The role includes responding to call outs for troubleshooting.
Your prime role will be to perform scheduled maintenance and general service support/troubleshooting on the processing equipment and networks. You will report to the site’s Operations Superintendent.
Work tasks include, amongst others:
• Coordinating with external service providers
• Network
• Care of tools and inventory
• Apply planned condition and inspection maintenance practices
• Use of diagnostic/monitoring apps
• Updating of firmware
• Adjustments to ventilation systems, ensuring ventilation integrity
About you
To be considered for this role we believe that you have a strong technical background in IT with at least a working knowledge of electrical. You have experience working with IT networks and technical software/diagnostics applications such as BTC tools, Foreman, Cisco/Mikrotik networking tools. Further, you have general handyman skills and a can-do attitude along with MS office skills.
You enjoy working independently and thrive in roles where you are able to be proactive and continuously improve.
