Help us simplify the world – beyond keys and pins!
We make things better – replacing keys and pins with biometrics – improving security, saving time and making life more convenient. With your curiosity, engagement, brilliant ideas and our knowledge of biometric technology, we can make genius things together!
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Optical Engineer to strengthen our R&D team in developing future fingerprint systems for mobile phones and other portable devices.
FPC is a leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the whole system, from advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packaging to algorithms and software for fingerprint recognition.
As a Senior Optical Engineer, you will lead our R&D efforts on novel optical fingerprint sensing concepts with the end goal of enabling in-display fingerprint sensing. Fingerprint Cards AB product offering is in constant motion and there is a need to bring in new technologies and radically different sensing concepts into our product portfolio. In some cases, the solutions come from combining existing technologies and therefore an important part of this position is to investigate the current state-of-the-art in related technology areas, analyze IP positions of such technologies and develop FPC internal IP to secure the long-term competitiveness of the company.
In this role, strong emphasis is given on both deep optical knowledge and on good leadership abilities. In your daily work you will lead a team of optical system engineers and interface both internally and externally of FPC. You will collaborate with highly qualified international groups to further develop our in-display sensing technologies and to bring it to the market. Externally, you will engage with customers and suppliers. Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Leading optical system development activities
• Leading the customer adaptations of new products in our expanding optical in-display fingerprint sensing technology portfolio
• Participating in product development activities bringing the technology to mass production
• Supporting external customers and projects after mass production
