To further strengthen our team in Malmö or Gothenburg, we are seeking a Senior Patent Attorney! Are you the one we are looking for?
What will you do?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Patent Attorney to join our IPR team! Intellectual property is an important aspect of the Fingerprints' business plan and patent applications are continuously filed for a wide variety of strategically important technologies within the field of biometrics. You will be working in close collaboration with very competent R&D teams, product managers and other parts of the organization to identify and develop inventions into Intellectual Property.
You will be close to our products and to the company strategy, and become an important player in a small team. The working environment is truly international, with our teams being distributed over the world and the products being sold to a wide variety of customers world-wide.
The reporting for this position is to the company Head of IPR.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Identifying innovation and patent opportunities based on good understanding of technical solutions, competitive situation, and company strategy
• Drafting new patent applications and taking them through the prosecution phase
• Performing Patentability and Freedom to Operate (FTO) searches
• Performing FTO analysis, including strategic analysis of how to maximize own possibilities and manage risks effectively
• Encourage and facilitate idea generation within the engineering teams
• Provide advice on handling of patent disputes and litigation
• Participating in the formulation of patent strategies to match the company and product strategies
Your professional and academic background
• Technical understanding of microelectronics, and preferably also optics or algorithms, and an academic background, with a Master in relevant technology areas, such as Microelectronics, Optics, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution
• Proven experience in working closely with engineers to distill patentable features in new technical solutions
• Qualified as European Patent Attorney
• Extensive knowledge about patent law and how to practice in the major jurisdictions
• You speak, read, and write English fluently
