About us
SEEL – Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, a new test and research center for electromobility, will open on the 31st of May 2023.

SEEL is co-owned and co-managed by Chalmers University of Technology foundation and RISE – Sweden’s research institute – working alongside the industrial partners we need to make the transition a success. With a shared platform and access to the latest infrastructure, our work together will build on the continual breakthroughs in knowledge and technology in electromobility.

We will offer test, research and verification on batteries, cells, modules and packs, electric machines, drivelines and full-car testing including NVH and tempered testing. The equipment will be brand new and when we welcome our clients at the opening day, they will meet heavy duty complete vehicle climate dyno, Light duty complete vehicle 4WD dyno, heavy duty and light duty powertrain rigs, electric motor rigs and ISO 3745 NVH rig with axle dyno.

We are now looking for a senior powertrain rig operator who will play an important part in developing SEELs operations.

About the role
In the role as senior rig operator, you will be responsible to develop and maintain rig functionality. You will also manage the rig up time and performance and be in control of quality assurance. Your main tasks will be to calibrate, run and maintain powertrain rigs but also mentor your colleagues.

You will develop processes and methods and take part in preparation and setup of test objects.  Our workplace safety is essential, and you will be securing processes that are both safe and with high quality. As you will work in close cooperation with our customers you play an important part in delivering a positive customer experience. You will be a part of the first operator team at SEEL, that’s why we need you as a senior to guide and develop the future colleagues as we grow and recruit.

The position is a permanent full-time employment at SEEL. You report to the Director Powertrain Testing and your team will be in Gothenburg and Nykvarn. Your workplace will be at one of the two sites, which one is up to you! Regardless of which, we will offer a modern and diverse working environment. Travel may occur.

Who are you?
We are looking for a senior skilled rig operator with good understanding of the mechanical and electrical properties of a running rotating rig. You have a few years of experience - or even more. Your practical experience will be highly valued as well as your knowledge around typical test objects. We believe that you have a pedagogic approach to teach both junior rig operators and customers. Your educational background could be from technical gymnasium up to a Master’s degree. Driving license B is mandatory, C or/and D is beneficial. We communicate in Swedish or/and English, so you need to be fluent in at least one of the languages. However, good knowledge in English is a merit.

Knowledge about test automation systems (especially AVL, PUMA or similar systems), supporting process systems, programming and/or measurement accuracy would be meritorious. If you have any experience from leadership it might be helpful, we see this as a plus but it is not mandatory.

As a person you are responsive, result oriented and have both a holistic and go-get mindset. You are a team-player who contributes socially with a great deal of sensitivity. We need you to be a flexible and agile problem-solver with the ability to work on different tasks at the same time. This will be essential in the start-up phase, but also a success factor for the future.
