Vattenfall is now recruiting a Senior Press Officer and Deputy Head of Media Relations to the Swedish Media Relations team in the Communications department, with placement in our Head Office in Solna.
About this team:
The Media Relations team is responsible for strengthening Vattenfall’s reputation and brand and the understanding of Vattenfall’s strategy through proactive and reactive communication in earned media. This includes drafting messages and press releases, crisis communication and press duty.
Your responsibilities as Senior Press Officer and Deputy Head of Media Relations include:
Proactively find opportunities for communication in media
Have an operative as well as strategic role
Have an operational team-lead role for the Swedish media relations team, leading the daily work
Prepare and publish press releases, interviews, statements and messages in cooperation with relevant stakeholders
Support spokespersons with media training
Being able to be the spokesperson towards media when needed
Being part of the press duty as well as internal security and incident updates
Your profile and personal skills:
Relevant university degree in communication, journalism or equal
Significant and proven working experience within journalism, PR, media relations or equivalent with an existing network within media
Preferably you have experience from working with Media Relations in a large organization as well as being a spokesperson and are used to communicate with journalists
Strategic, creative and used to work in a proactive way and cross discipline
Cooperative team player who finds joy in working with others
You see the big picture and can find relevance for Vattenfall in external context
In addition, the following qualifications are important for this position:
Excellent knowledge of the developing media landscape as well as social media
Strong ability to accurately value information by its actual and potential commercial impact on Vattenfall
Ability to develop newsworthy stories around initiatives within Vattenfall
Excellent skills in writing and editing in Swedish and English
