Why are we hiring for this role?
We’re looking for an experienced and level headed product or brand marketer to lead the marketing strategy and execution for Expansive Worlds’ hunting games. These include the highly successful The Hunter: Call of the Wild along with future hunting titles.
What’s the purpose of this role?
You’re the critical connecting thread between the players, brand, product and the marketing. You enable the development team to build the best game for the audience and lead the marketing strategy in order to deliver our player & business goals.
What are the key responsibilities?
- Source and use deep player insights to enable development teams to design, scope and build games that deliver against player needs and motivations.
- Collaborate closely with the development teams to deliver a product truth and Unique Selling Points that are on brand and aligned with player needs.
- Drive the creation of the product positioning that clearly sets the products apart from its competitors.
- Research and deliver player and market insights to inform feature prioritization, product improvements and marketing decisions.
- Drive and build the marketing strategy and go to market plans for products, working closely with subject matter experts, partner teams and vendors.
- Responsible for leading overall marketing strategies throughout the whole product lifecycle, collaborating closely with internal teams & stakeholders.Have budget responsibility for the marketing budget to ensure efficient and effective use of each product's budget for its multi-year lifetime.
- Evangelize the product internally and externally through presenting to stakeholders at all levels.
- Lead development of brand strategy, maintain the brand framework including key brand attributes, tone, style and voice.
- Drive creation of and brief key assets for the brand, working closely with the in-house creative team to deliver these on brand and to the highest quality.
- Validate and approve all marketing assets for the product & brand.
- Bring marketing perspective and experience to the product team, ensuring they are empowered to lead the product to critical and commercial success.
What type of person are we looking for?
You’re a seasoned brand/product marketer with over 7 years experience, who’s lived through many game launches on PC and console and led marketing efforts that brought these to market. Sometimes it went well and you felt proud of the team effort, other times the success came from what you learnt along the way.
Able to understand the market and players in depth, you set long term goals, then plan and deliver the marketing campaigns for multi year live services. You are not afraid to get hands-on when required to ensure the marketing lives up to player expectations.
You love games and understand gamers enough to keep track of current and future trends in the market. Enjoying the outdoors like we do is a bonus!
How does the role fit in?
This position reports to the Head of Marketing, Expansive Worlds and is a critical member of the (hunting) Product Team. Collaborating closely with the Product Owner, Lead Producer and Creative Lead, you will ensure the success of the products and close alignment between development, marketing and other key stakeholders.

Since 2009, Expansive Worlds has been devoted to delivering highly immersive outdoor gaming experiences for millions of players and best known for the long-standing and successful Call of the Wild franchise.

The role is based at our HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, alongside the marketing team in a hybrid office/home environment.
Some international business travel may be required (circa once per month).
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal are a must.
Previous experience at an international games publisher is expected, although we would consider adjacent technology or entertainment industries.
