SCOPE OF THIS POSITION
The Senior Programme Coordinator will be anchored in the GWP Global Water and Climate Resilience team. The position will be based in Stockholm as part of the Network Operations Unit at GWPO (GWP’s Global Secretariat). S/he will be responsible for GWPO’s overall programmatic implementation support and oversight on GCF Readiness and NDC projects. The position will do so in the context of operationalizing GWP’s Business Plan and delivering on the targets set in GWP’s Global Strategy.
The position reports directly to the GWPO Chief Operations Officer (COO) in Stockholm and works in close collaboration with the Global Head for Water and Climate Resilience and other members of the Global Climate Team in Pretoria and Geneva. The position will work in cooperation with GWPO staff in Network Operations, Finance, and Communications.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 10 years experience in programme development and management of development cooperation programmes related to water resources management and climate resilience
Advanced university degree(s) in engineering, natural science, economics, water policy, or related
Technical expertise in water resources engineering, climate resilience, water policy, development economics, and political economy
Track record of mobilizing resources for water and climate resilience programmes, including by leveraging opportunities offered by global processes related to climate change
Deep familiarity with climate change global policy processes under the UNFCCC, particularly in the context of political economy of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and associated resilience building instruments such as NAPs, NAPAs, NDCs and climate finance mechanisms such as GCF, GEF, AF, and others
Demonstrated experience in client interaction and technical service provision
Demonstrated experience in procuring and managing consultancies for on-ground activities and analytical work resulting in timely, high quality delivery
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including in in-person and virtual contexts. Fluency in English is a requirement, other languages (French, Spanish, Hindi, Chinese) an advantage
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with excellent project management skills
Proven ability to work as part of a team, with a humble approach that focuses on enabling the team’s delivery capacity and growth trajectory
Service-oriented work style, with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively and harmoniously at all levels
Experience in a multicultural environment required; developing country experience strongly preferred
Highly motivated and results oriented
Comfortable working in situations with high uncertainty, requiring innovation, persistence, and teamwork
Computer skills, including internet navigation; experience with the Microsoft Suite of programs; use of spread sheets; knowledge of commonly used spatial analysis software in climate resilience work.
