Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Senior Project Controls Manager to join our Skellefteå team.

The Senior Project Controls Manager (PCM) reports directly to the Project Director (PD) and is responsible for the project controls functions and personnel on projects or portfolios of projects including cost estimating, quantity surveying, cost control, planning/scheduling, progress measurement, reporting, and the facilitation of change management and risk management processes. The PCM is sometimes referred to as the “right hand” of the PM and may be assigned as a delegate or deputy PM as needed.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Defines an appropriate project controls organization including both employees and consultants and provides daily supervision of project controls work through Basic Design and Execution phases. Reports directly to the project manager through all project phases.
Prepares the Project Controls Plan and associated cost, quantity survey, schedule, progress, change, risk, and document control detailed procedures and workflows for the project in alignment with Northvolt standards. Reviews, approves, and audits contractor project controls procedures and tools.
Ensures that both Northvolt and contractor software systems, tools and templates are implemented in accordance with project and contract requirements and Northvolt standards.
Supervises the cost estimating process and is responsible for estimating quality and completeness. Ensures that the estimate can be transformed into well-defined budgets for subsequent control of cost accounts. Prepares and presents budget requests.
Provides project management with early warning of cost, schedule and progress variances against the baseline and provides mitigation options, analysis, and recommendations. Ensures that trends, potential changes, and contractor schedule and progress performance issues are identified and reflected in the project estimate at completion (EAC).
Develops contract pricing, payment mechanisms, and project controls requirements for tenders and executed contracts that are aligned with project coding structures, schedule, systems, tools, and procedures.
Supports estimate comparison, commercial bid evaluations, and contractor schedule reviews to support award recommendations, and ensures that change order cost and schedule impact assessments are completed.
Prepares the project close-out report and provides input to lessons learned and cost and schedule benchmark data collection. Supervises the asset capitalization process and ensures that final invoices, changes, claims, contracts and financial systems are properly closed.
Qualifications
University degree in engineering, business administration, accounting, economics, or finance.
8 or more years of project controls experience on industrial projects greater than $50 million
In-depth knowledge of cost control, scheduling and progress measurement practices and concepts
Familiar with a variety of project execution models and contracting strategies
Experience managing project control teams and functions
Ability to communicate and present project status to senior management and stakeholders.
