Sandvik IT is a support function with the mission to meet the IT needs of Sandvik's business globally. This is done in an international environment within various areas of responsibilities such as IT architecture, management systems, process development, IT security and IT support among others. Today, there are about 1000 people working with IT within Sandvik. To continue building our Project Management Office (PMO) in order to meet new challenges within Sandvik, we are now looking for a experienced Senior Project Manager for our Project Team located in Sandviken.
We can offer exciting challenges in the role of a Project Manager, with the opportunity to manage major projects. You will have the chance to be a mentor for other project Managers, while at the same time, we offer you support and advice from our PMO.
Key performance areas
As a Senior Project Manager you will lead a wide variety of projects, from minor IT projects to strategic, global projects and large-scale projects. All projects are aimed at supporting Sandvik in its cutting edge industrial environment. Your main duties include:
- Leading, planning, coordinating and following up large-scale projects independently of business process, according to project directives.
- Responsibility for project delivery in accordance with quality, budget and time.
- Acting as a mentor and role model for less experienced project managers.
- Change and risk management.
A Senior Project Manager must possess considerable drive and the will to meet the challenges set by the projects.
Your profile
The preferred educational background is a degree in IT, economics, or equivalent knowledge, and experience from different sectors. The successful candidate have at least ten years' experience of Project Management and three years of running large-scale, complex, projects. You preferably have documented experience of SAP, change management, leading project teams and coaching sub-project managers. Problem-solving skills and stakeholder management skills are required, as well as good interpersonal and written communication skills. Experience from coordinating vendors and contracts are an advantage. Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken, is essential.
