The Biologics Program Management Office (PMO) supports Global Biologics Operations (GBO) strategy delivery through ground-breaking projects, program and portfolio planning, execution, delivery and benefit realization using the right methodology, tools and expertise.
What you'll do
The Senior Project Manager delivers large, complex franchise, enterprise, strategic projects across multiple functions, sites and regions. You are accountable for project team execution, processes and capabilities within the Global Biologics Operations PMO. In the role you'll collaborate with manufacturing sites, other functional project managers, other PMO leads, CMC teams, subject-matter experts, key partners, functional leads, contract manufacturing organizations, outside testing labs, site and senior management. Further you will:
* Leads and delivers GPO strategic projects using the PMO project methodology, tools and processes, to meet agreed scopes, timelines, deliverables, budgets, resource estimates, and success criteria. Manages project budgets, expenses and resources to meet estimates and commitments. You will identify and improve practices and processes while working to establish business cases for programs undertaken and prioritized by the region
* Leads cross-functional project teams to deliver projects (can be drug product or non-drug product projects)
* Works with site heads, functional heads and other key partners to assure continuous alignment between corporate and site priorities and processes and with corporate strategies and strategic projects
* Tracks and reports on the progress of assigned projects to the appropriate governance, partner and senior management
* With the project sponsor, presents stage-gate reviews, approvals and project updates to appropriate governance forums, steering committees, Site Leadership Teams, and/or other key partners
* Trains project teams and members as needed on project management tools and governance process to ensure smooth and successful delivery of projects. Advocates for appropriate project management across Biologics to ensure effective and efficient delivery of defined business results
* Responsible for understanding the larger project portfolio(s), resolving potential resource conflicts between projects, and prioritizing appropriately
* Identifies, supports and leads continuous improvement initiatives
* Coaches, develops, mentors and leads direct reports to ensure successful individual performance, career development and diverse organizational talent management
* Drives Biologics Operations PMO objectives and supports the broader PMO network community
Essentials for the role
* BS in Engineering, Science or related operations/manufacturing field, with 8+ years of Project Management experience
* 3+ years experience in the pharmaceutical, biopharma or GMP industry; must be familiar with pharma or biopharma GMP
* Demonstrated track record of success in delivering strategic, complex, cross-functional and multi-site projects on-time, on-budget and to committed deliverables to generate significant business value
* Demonstrated mentoring, coaching and people development capabilities
* Takes appropriate initiative and accountability
* Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communications skills
* Strong team management skills
* Comfort with ambiguity and fast pace
Desirables for the role
* 5 years minimum experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharma industry in a manufacturing, technical or related role
* Technology transfer, manufacturing scale-up or new product launch experience
* Manufacturing, R&D, QA or analytical testing experience
* Business process design, deployment and change management experience
* Experience working globally, leading virtual teams in a matrixed environment
* Experience presenting to or communicating with senior management
* Project Management certification (PMP)
* Previous experience successfully managing others
