Job summary
Volvo Construction Equipment is leading the way towards developing a world that is cleaner, smarter and more connected. To make this happen, our machines require innovative technologies, especially in the areas of Electronics, Connectivity, E-Mobility and Automation. Being at the forefront of these developments, our EACS team is now recruiting a Senior Project Manager Purchasing.


In a context of “Perform and Transform”, we are looking for a talent passionate by new technologies and eager to make an impact both in the development of New Products and in the definition of the Electronics Supply Chain resilience strategy.


It is a dual role with a unique opportunity to grow and learn, being involved in every phase of the product lifecycle and interacting with all stakeholders cross functionally.


Main tasks/responsibilities
In the fast-paced, global and complex Electronics Supply Market, you will interact with semi-conductor manufacturers, distributors, brokers and be a source of innovative solutions to define a resilience strategy together with the Global Commodity Manager in charge. This includes the deployment of new collaboration and Business models, and an overall reflection about Volvo CE positioning within the value chain.
You will perform market surveys, work with Business Intelligence Tools and contribute to the Supplier risk management process in general
In your role as Program Buyer involved in the development of innovations, you will lead and be responsible for all Purchasing related activities, including but not limited to:
Organize and drive recurrent commercial meetings with suppliers to secure their understanding of Volvo CE requirements in terms of Quality, Operations, Logistics, etc.
Organize and drive Project Steering Committee meetings
Follow-up design changes (ECN) during the Project, and negotiate with suppliers potential deviations in terms of QDCF
In coordination with SDE, secure suppliers’ readiness towards a mature industrialization (PAP, APQP)
Give inputs and support Commodity Managers in the preparation of annual Business Review Meetings (Supplier Performance in Project Phase)
Collaborate with Buyers in the regions and gather all Product Platforms’ needs in terms of prototypes, and support or be ready to place corresponding Purchase Orders for all sites where the New Product is introduced
In some cases, responsible for launching RFQ’s in collaboration with Commodity Managers

You have great cooperative and communication skills as you are dealing with multiple contacts both outside and inside of your organization. You have the ability to lead and are not afraid of taking on responsibility and standing up for yourself. You are used to working in a multinational and multicultural environment.
You have a strategic mindset and as a person, you are target oriented and believe there is always room for improvements. You are well organized and structured and love taking on complex tasks, and you have a good understanding of sourcing commodity strategy process (Volvo Sourcing Process - VSP).


You have at least a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or similar with 5+ years’ experience in purchasing area in relevant industry. You have a high degree of technical knowledge and ideally a working experience dealing with Electronics products. Understanding the technologies and corresponding market dynamics is a great advantage.
You have strong negotiating skills and are fluent in English verbal and written communication. We se Sweden Eskilstuna as preferred location but other locations could also be of interest.
