The Team
We are responsible for the procurement of all plastic parts – mostly injection moulded - within new projects, currently focusing heavily on supporting Scania’s electrification road map.
Our team consists of seven dedicated purchasers with different backgrounds, nationalities, gender and experience. The role
In this position, you will focus on strategic work, for example by ensuring Purchasing’s involvement in early project phases and thus contributing to optimizing quality, cost, choice of technology and sustainability.
You will be R&D’s natural speaking partner and first point of contact regarding a variety of topics, also representing Purchasing in multi-functional projects and steering groups.
As a Senior Sourcing Manager, one of your main responsibilities is to support the other team members on a daily basis, from joining negotiations to supporting in technical discussions with R&D or suppliers. You will share your knowledge in the field of plastics and guide in how to translate that expertise into sourcing strategies, cost estimations and project time plans.
You will also be responsible for a number of sourcings with higher complexity, from early development, through negotiations and nomination until complete industrialization of the parts.
Due to your seniority in the field, you also contribute actively to a constant improvement of our way of working and drive relevant activities forward.
Your profile
• degree in engineering, business or similar
• minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within automotive
• preferably experience within plastics from purchasing, R&D, production or similar
• interest in both technology and business, commercial mindset
• positive and open attitude with ability to motivate and guide others
• skilled mentor and pedagogical approach when sharing knowledge
• strategic thinking and ability to execute
• clear, professional and persuasive when communicating internally and externally and used to interacting with senior management
• fluent in spoken and written English
