Senior Prototyping Engineer

At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers driven by electric motors with battery derived energy. The ES-30 is expected to enter into service in 2028.

We are looking for a Senior Prototyping Engineer to join our Advanced Prototyping Team. Do you have experience with aircraft design and want to contribute to a more sustainable future?

Your mission

You will be working in a small and very multidisciplinary team involved in a broad range of prototyping activities.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Develop solutions for rapid prototyping of parts
- Generate CAD designs of prototyping parts and assemblies
- Perform structural sizing of components
- Coordination with suppliers
- Support colleagues working in the workshop and hangar
- Support the execution of tests

You will report to the AD&P Manager and belong to a growing team that currently consist of 8 people. Your place of work will be at our main office located in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Education/Experience

- Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in aircraft design
- Experience with stress analysis and finite element method
- Good understanding of aircraft production and assembly methods and processes
- Experience with Composite materials
- Experience in aircraft conceptual and preliminary design phases, and also aircraft electrification is a bonus
- Experience with Graphical rendering is bonus
- Experience with Metal working (Machining, Welding, Sheet Metal) is a bonus
- Experience with Wood working is a bonus
- Experience with 3D Printing is a bonus

Specific Skills/Abilities

- Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Catia V6
- Good knowledge of CAM and CNC programming is a bonus
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
- Eagerness to work with others
- Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry
