The group Indirect Purchasing - IT serve the Global IT department within Volvo Car Group with relevant sourcing activities, negotiations, supplier- market- and spend analysis, supplier and commodity strategies, contract management as well as governance towards our current and potential suppliers. Our generic task as a staff function is to support, but also to challenge in order to improve the way IT supports the overall objectives for Volvo Car Group. We constantly seek to develop ourselves through best practices to better serve the challenges ahead and contribute to Volvo Car Group's growth plan and other business objectives.

As Senior Buyer you will be responsible for purchasing of IT software and services towards users in our R&D departments globally. You will play an important role in ensuring a close relationship with the internal stakeholders and a fruitful relationship with our suppliers in order to create best value for Volvo Car Group.

Main responsibilities

* Develop and implement commodity and supplier strategies for the IT area in close collaboration with the team at IT Purchasing, the IT departments and the business stakeholders to ensure alignment on the IT strategy
* Support IT and R&D with professional knowledge, experience and skills how to obtain best possible sourcing solution for areas such as software licenses, cloud solutions, infrastructure services, development project services and support & maintenance services
* Execute and support market-, supplier- and spend analysis to be on top of the IT area
* Prepare and effectuate Request for Information and Request for Quotation
* Be the Volvo Cars focal point and lead commercial and contractual negotiations with global suppliers
* Assume global supplier responsibility for selected suppliers within the area
* Drive contract management and supplier governance together in collaboration with stakeholders
* Find saving opportunities and drive the initiatives forward
* Review purchase requisitions and place orders

Required qualifications

* University degree or equivalent professional experience in the relevant area
* Professional experience in the purchasing of IT Software and IT Services, including cloud solutions
* Professional experience in cooperation with stakeholders
* Professional negotiation skills, commercial and contractual track record for global services
* Solid understanding and interest in the legal aspects in agreements
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Excellent skills in MS Office suite
* Experience of product development in e.g. the automotive industry is meritorious
