We are a group responsible for Sheet Metal Components and we work with all future projects in close collaboration with our cross-functions. We are a diverse team consisting of nine team members with a mix of ages, gender, and nationalities. Responsibilities
In the role as Senior Purchaser or Senior Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing Sheet Metal parts belonging to new Projects. You will play an important role in crucial cross-functional projects within Scania. You will also get a chance to work closely with colleagues from other brands within Traton like MAN & Navistar, as well as with colleagues across the continent in Brazil, Europe & China. You will collaborate closely with R&D and other stakeholders to meet our demands for technique, quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability. Being part of Scania which believes in “Driving the Shift”, we as individuals enjoy working closely with our supplier base to create & maintain a Sustainable Supply Chain.
As a Senior Sourcing Manager, you will also guide and support your colleagues in topics such as: Negotiations, Material Strategy, de-carbonisation of our Supply Chain.
Your profile
You are a person, who has:
• Good experience in Purchasing and you have a good track record both on commercial and technical levels.
• Skill to drive complex technical projects and long-term strategies.
• Passionate about doing business, a strong negotiator, and enjoying learning about technology and the business of the suppliers.
• Ability to think about Continuous Improvements
• Liking to be part of the De-carbonization Journey
• Good communication skills
• Analytical skills, some liking towards analyzing numbers
• Liking to be a mentor to colleagues on the team
• Experience to formulate sourcing strategy along with cross-functional colleagues
To succeed in the role you need to be analytical and structured. You take your own initiative, can act decisively when needed, and have the capacity to handle multiple tasks in parallel. You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing internally as well as to suppliers in a professional way. You are self-driven with high integrity and eager to contribute to the development of our team and the purchasing organization. To take on this role we see that you have:
• An academic degree in engineering, business, or similar.
• You also have at least 5+ years of experience in technical or commercial roles within automotive purchasing or other relevant backgrounds.
Me as a manager
My name is Shanmug and I have been working with Scania for 9 years and having different management positions last 7 years. I really enjoy working at Scania and especially with my team which is truly international. As a manager, I believe that people are our greatest assets. I get motivated by developing the team and the team members, as well as finding individual potential.
