Rönnskär in Skelleftehamn is one of the world's most efficient copper smelters. The plant receives deliveries of copper and lead concentrates from our own mines and from external suppliers. Today the smelter is a world leader in electronics recycling thanks to investments and developments in Kaldo technology. We extract primarily copper, gold and silver from these materials. Rönnskär is our biggest production unit and the biggest private employer in the region.

Dina arbetsuppgifter
Our department for Process- and Product-development (R&D) at Rönnskärsverken in Skellefteå needs reinforcement by a Senior Pyrometallurgist.

As a Senior Pyrometallurgist in the R&D department, you will develop and improve our pyrometallurgical processes towards our target - to be the most environmentally friendly metal producer. There is also an increased need to find new solutions for the future as our raw materials are becoming more challenging. The work includes supporting the operations and project implementations.
Your work will heavily influence how our processes will be changed and improved for the future.

You plan and execute complex investigations and test campaigns independently and stay updated in your field of expertise. You work either more independently or as a member of a team. The work is both theoretical and practical.

You will be in frequent consultation with your colleagues in the R&D department as well as with the operational staff and academia.

The workplace is Rönnskärsverken in Skellefteå. Travelling will occur but are of shorter duration. You will be reporting to the section manager and occasionally also to project managers.

Din bakgrund/Dina egenskaper
You have an engineer degree with a relevant education in pyrometallurgy.
You have an ability to understand complex problems and plan your work. You work with an analytical approach and have patience as many of our improvement projects are of longer duration. Good communication skills in both speech and writing is needed, as complex problems and solutions must be explained.

To be considered you must have:
- Graduation from University or similar
- Relevant education in pyrometallurgy
- "Senior" experience level in general
- You are knowledgeable in and have experience from pyrometallurgical work
- You speak and write English well
- You hold a Swedish driver’s license for car (B-Körkort)

We prefer that you also have:
- Knowledge in Swedish language
- Experience from R&D work
- Experience from heavy process industry
