Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
Manage change orders and control changes, including tracking, evaluating, following up, and negotiating to ensure alignment with project goals and budget.
Survey completed work and compare against produced costs and invoicing on-site to validate expenditures and manage project finances.
Develop and maintain cost reports, including cost allocations, contingency allocations, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Conduct estimates and provide cost planning, presenting final cost plans and detailed reports.
Facilitate commercial meetings with contractors and other stakeholders to discuss project progress, costs, and changes.
Lead negotiations with contractors and subcontractors to ensure fair contract prices, while reviewing and validating their pricing.
Collaborate with design services teams and contractors in the development of cost estimates, providing guidance and expertise.
Reconcile cost changes and assist contractors in ensuring the accuracy of their data submissions.
Communicate regularly with contractors and project managers to gather updates for cost estimate reviews and status reports.
Prepare comprehensive written comments and executive summaries on contractor submissions for project stakeholders.
Coordinate cost-related discussions and validation processes with suppliers, contractors, and their sub-contractors to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Proactively manage engineering priorities based on cost impacts and project requirements.
Conduct cost checks, audits, and valuations, ensuring a robust and efficient cost validation process is in place.
Engage in post-contract cost variance analysis and support the change control processes to maintain project integrity.
Manage cost impacts, contingency plans, and commitment tracking logs, maintaining clear and accurate records.
Prepare funding data presentations and lead value engineering (VE) sessions with key stakeholders.
Oversee contract administration, including retention, terms and conditions, insurance, contingency, and incentives.
Attend risk meetings and maintain an updated risk log to proactively address potential project risks.
What you bring:
Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar role within a construction or project management environment.
Strong expertise in change management, cost control, and contract negotiation throughout the construction lifecycle.
Solid understanding of cost estimation, cost planning, and cost validation processes, with the ability to produce detailed financial reports and cost plans.
Exceptional negotiation skills, with experience in reviewing and leading discussions on contractor and subcontractor pricing.
Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision, resolve scheduling and financial issues, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Familiarity with contract administration processes, including insurance, contingency management, and incentives.
Experience in maintaining cost benchmarking databases and preparing cost impact analyses and funding presentations.
Competency in managing risk and maintaining comprehensive risk logs for project planning and execution.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
