About this opportunity
As a Regulatory Approval (RA) strategic developer or driver you will focus on coming new technologies/products and how to establish effective Regulatory Approvals. You‘ll discuss with different parts within Ericsson organization as well as with external parties. You'll have the opportunity to work with Ericsson’s coming and latest Radio, Baseband and Enclosure products, including activities related to absence of standards/requirements as well as interpretation and analysis of such.
An important ingredient is to continuously reach out for fast Time To Market (TTM) and by that have an including setup where you easily can use your existing network when looking for and developing solutions to new and complex Regulatory Approval challenges.
Having a senior Regulatory Approval position we believe you have a strive to reach and also walk above and beyond to find new and out-of-the-box solutions.
The department you will work in is Integration, Verification and Certification. Within its responsibilities, the RA/legal area is one of the most important parts.
The RA team is responsible to secure that all legal testing and adherent declarations/certifications have been fulfilled/done, to enable global market access.
What you will do
Develop RA strategies for coming products including (but not limited to) new type of products/technologies and the use of new test methodologies and new type of chambers
Have the “ear to the ground” internally for coming new type of products and technologies
Have the “ear to the ground” externally, towards test equipment vendors/developers.
Have the “ear to the ground” towards Radio related global authorities
Manage back-log related to RA strategy development work
Have a close co-operation with RA strategy driver
Communicate internally with system and product management
Communicate externally with external test labs and authorities to achieve and agree upon effective testing and certification
Participate in (and from RA point of view initiate and drive) test methodology discussions, internally within Ericsson as well as externally with test labs and authorities
Be an RA strategy driving force within the PDU as well as towards other PDUs’ and other Ericsson sites
Discuss with and push other Ericsson sites to align to RA strategies
Be a representative for, and promote Regulatory Approval towards various organizations within Ericsson
Be a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the EMC, Safety & Conformance Test Teams related to RA strategy areas
Communicate directly with the EMC, Safety & Conformance Test teams on behalf of the stakeholders
Provide independent Technical & Administrative support for day-to-day activities
Ensure, together with the RA Team leader, that RA team members are actively participating when new RA strategies are to be developed
Work in close collaboration with other functions/teams in various Ericsson Sites around the world
Maintain positive professional relationships with our external lab partners to enable successful testing
Act as a general mentor within the RA team.
You will bring
Education: Bacholers in Telecommunication Engineering (or equivalent). Master or Doctoral degree is an asset.
Minimum 4 years of Regulatory Approval work, preferable related to radio products.
Experience from some Regulatory Approval disciplines (RF, EMC, Safety….)
Radio product testing experience
Experience from discussions with Radio Equipment authorities globally
Knowledge within different approval/certification schemes e.g. EU (CE), North America (FCC/ISED), Japan (TELEC), India (TEC)
Understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G wireless communications technologies
Knowledge in global product standards applicable to radio products
Some flexibility to communicate and complete tasks during non-traditional working hours
Self-driven with the ability to manage through ambiguity, and independently-run activities with minimal supervision
Strong work ethic and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Experience in coordination and alignment of activities spanning multiple sites (and teams)
Experience from working with Ericsson Radio products (HW/SW)
Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
Documentation and report writing skills
