Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.The Software factory at Scania's Research and Development department, including embedded development, is undergoing a large transformation right now becoming more flow-oriented with the goal to become faster and with better quality! This affects how about 1000 employees are working with the development of Scania´s electrical and embedded systems.     

One important factor for this to succeed is to have clear structures, processes, and information management in place. The transformation within Embedded Systems means that the present way of working needs to be challenged and updated. Today legal requirements in this area are increasing, for example, SUMS (Software Update Management system) and CSMS (Cyber Security Management System). This is for you who are seasoned in your field and want to develop and grow in your role while contributing to safe and smart methods.

Our team

Embedded Method development team is fresh and growing fast. Together with all co-workers involved in embedded processes and tools, we either improve existing methods or develop new methods that are used across the organization. With a high focus on safety and quality, our aim is to increase the speed of our product development work without jeopardizing the premium level of Scania products. The team is currently working in a modern workflow both remotely and in the office.

Your new job

As a business architect for Requirement Management System (RMS), you are responsible for developing methods and processes for requirement management where the development teams and other decision-makers are the stakeholders in this area.

When developing methods for requirement work you will be a part of developing our Requirement Management System which enables both requirement methods, processes, and tools.

You will be working cross-functional and cross-organizational and be involved in all project phases from early concept development onwards. You will be networking to a large extent. RMS is a significant driver of the Scania digitalization strategy.

Examples of work tasks:


• Define the concept of a method by collecting experience and deep diving into the business needs
• Continuously improve our way of working within the area of requirement handling
• Develop the working methods in requirements by discussing with stakeholders and describing it in a documented way
• Define the User Features and expectations on the requirement management tool
• Implement the methods by teaching, coaching and “selling” the method into the organization.
• Maintenance is also part of your responsibility where you will implement improvements and adapt the methods for the new business needs, based on the implementation experience

Through these tasks, you will establish a broad network where collaboration is the key to success. Therefore your leadership skills are of great importance and will be developed in the role.

Your Profile

We think you are experienced in creating requirements for embedded systems.

Your ability to see the whole picture and how different parts within the Requirements Engineering domain will be an asset in this role. At the same time, you see the importance of getting things right and working meticulously with details. Solving complicated and complex matters are part of your background, preferably from safety-critical system development.

You enjoy working independently but systematically.

As a person, you are curious and truly interested in other people’s opinions to understand the needs of different roles. You value collaborations and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Good skills in presenting your work result to stakeholders and also documenting technical instructions and guidelines.

Knowledge in Cyber Security (UN-ECE R155) and Functional Safety (ISO 26262) is meritous.

Since you will be working in a global environment you express yourself fluently, both in speech and writing, in English.
