Your team
You will be part of a stimulating environment in the Physics & Advanced Applications group. The group is responsible for all physics aspects within the engineering organization of the neuro business line. The neuro business line is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Leksell Gamma Knife®, Leksell GammaPlan®, and stereotactic frame systems. The group also conduct research and deliver exploration projects in the areas of physics, machine learning and optimization.
What you’ll do at Elekta
As a Senior R&D Physicist your primary responsibility are issues related to radiation physics, such as dose calculations, algorithms, and dosimetry. You’ll initiate and deliver evaluations of technologies, methodologies, and products. You’ll interact with customers and act on an expert level on the clinical application of radiosurgery with respect to physics and support dosimetry evaluations. When required, you’ll lead and perform physics measurements related to the LGK including measurements on the CBCT system on LGK Icon. In addition, you’ll ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
The right stuff
To be a suitable candidate for this position we think you have a degree in physics, radiation physics, medical physics, or closely related discipline. A PhD in a relevant field and/or several years of clinical experience is meriting. Experience in applied radiation physics, including dosimetry and measurements on ionizing radiation, either in a research, industrial or clinical environment is desirable. You have experience working with scientific programming, preferably in Matlab. Furthermore, it’s a plus if you are able to contribute in one or several of the following areas: Monte Carlo simulations and other physics modelling techniques, MR physics or X-ray imaging. You have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
