We are looking for a Senior Research Engineer to work with our expert Sensor and Process Control team in Bioprocessing R&D, Uppsala, Sweden. Do you have a passion for application work and processes in biomanufacturing area? Then we would love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
As a Senior Research Engineer you will support the organization around process economy, protein analysis and downstream processing. The position will be directed towards application work related to market support, customer support, new product introductions and R-projects for a variety of target molecules. The team also supports the organization with sensor evaluations for both mammalian cells cultivations and fermentations from lab scale to large scale bioreactors working in a cross functional team environment.
This vacancy is a temporary position for 12 months.
This role includes project and line activities that will support both tech intake, R-projects, new product introductions, market support and sales support.
As part of a team, you will plan and deliver the team's commitments
Perform laboratory investigations - on your own or as a team - through planning, execution, analysis of results and documenting
Take part in technical evaluations, defining customer needs and verifying them.
Present, orally and in writing, results and conclusions from studies performed

Who you are
MSc in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related area and with at least 5 years relevant work experience.
Good knowledge about protein analysis, separation using chromatography including Unicorn programming in Biopharmaceutical process development and/or manufacturing.
Structured and organized team player with good interpersonal skills that can drive R-projects and activities independently.
Flexible and good track record to deliver according to deadlines and handling multiple activities/projects in parallel
English as working languages with good communication skills (both written and spoken). Swedish skills are beneficial.
Good understanding from upstream to downstream in Biopharmaceutical process development or manufacturing.
Experience in programming in Python, lab scale automation and good understanding of SW requirement setting.
Experience using Cytiva products in manufacturing scale is a merit.
Proficiency in using excel for calculations using macros. Previous experience from process economy calculations is considered a merit.
