Senior Research Engineer/ Research Engineer

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Consumables Upstream & ReadyToProcess department is expanding in the area of Extractables and Leachables and is setting up a dedicated group to work in this area.

The team will focus on fulfilling and developing the GE Healthcare strategy regarding extractables and leachables. This by characterization of components and material in new and existing product. The work will be in close collaboration with other teams and functions locally and globally.

Essential Responsibilities:

We are seeking a senior research engineer/ research engineer with experience in analytical chemistry,
The Res Eng position will participate in method validation and is responsible for performing extractions, analysis and data evaluation. This position is mostly hands-on working in the labs.

To independently execute and document tasks assigned by Project Manager or Section Manager to reach given project objectives
To independently problem solve and troubleshoot issues to enable project progress
The work involves international contacts as well as a close relation with other departments/sections within the company.
To participate in, and if needed, actively manage external collaborations and research activities

Qualifications/Requirements:

MScor Bachelor?s degree in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent experience
Solid understanding of general laboratory techniques including chromatography
Experience from analysis of extractables from polymeric materials or equivalent experience
Experience from working in a regulatory environment (e.g. ISO 17025 or GxP)
English and Swedish as working languages
Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions
Strong computer skills and ability to work in both common lab/office software plus specific internal systems
EU work permit
