Senior Research Scientist

The Molecular Toxicology Department at Safety Assessment, AstraZeneca R&D Södertälje, Sweden, is providing support in drug R&D from the early discovery phase to late stage development.Front-edge technologies such as genomics, proteomics and metabolomics are applied in an integrated approach with more traditional biochemical tools for evaluation of toxicological mechanisms and for biomarker identification. Ideally you should possess skills from the emerging research field of metabolomics.The position requires qualifications in analytical chemistry (NMR and/or LC-MS) and multivariate data analysis.A suitable background is a PhD in chemistry or a related field with post doctoral experience.Furthermore, experience from drug R&D and knowledge in toxicology, pharmacology or biochemistry are considered highly advantageous.In addition to your scientific skills you will also need a team player personality well suited to working in a result orientated environment.You will need a supportive and communicative attitude and enthusiasm to work within and contribute to the multi-disciplinary field of biomarker research in toxicology.
