Looking for a new challenge? Join our Research and Innovation Team!
We are looking for a skilful hands-on scientist with a curious mind. We work in the intersection between biotechnology, image processing, machine learning and electron microscopy to advance Vironova’s product and service offering to the biopharma industry.
The Team
The R&D team consists of about 10 scientists, spanning multiple disciplines with a solid knowledge in image processing, machine learning and Vironova’s core business. The R&D team works closely together with our application specialists (working with our instrument customers), our microscopists (providing our analytical services) as well as our product development teams. We have a newly built R&D lab allowing sample preparation for electron microscopy. The lab also carries units of Vironova’s existing products; the MiniTEM and ViroTEM, allowing rapid hands-on prototyping.
As a Senior Research Scientist at Vironova you will contribute to the important work of advancing the company's technology platform and making sure that we are equipped to solve our customer's upcoming needs.
What you need to succeed:
We believe that you have a relevant Ph.D. or M.Sc. in a field such as physics, biotech, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, data science or bioinformatics. More importantly, you are familiar with working in a multidisciplinary setting and devour new knowledge and methodologies in general. You are driven by solving real-world problems and you are not a stranger to technically advanced instruments. We also believe that you have worked with some sort of image generating system to gather data for analytics. You are comfortable with Python and not afraid of digging into additional programming languages and hardware interfaces.
Meritorious
- Automating the control, including image acquisition, of imaging generating systems.
- Experience from using electron microscopy techniques.
- Experience from using other technically advanced imaging systems including atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), as well as light-based systems such as darkfield/brightfield/confocal/fluorescent microscopy including slide scanners.
- Lab work in wet labs.
- You like sharing knowledge and like the challenge to convey complex information in a multidisciplinary environment internally and externally.
- Experience of analysing nanoparticles.
- Comfortable with Python and have some insights in an additional language such as C++ or C#.
Interested? Do not hesitate to submit your application today. We will review applications on an ongoing basis.
Vironova AB was founded in 2005 as a result of interdisciplinary research at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden and is today a fast growing company with around 130 employees including subsidiaries. We offer comprehensive hardware, software, and services for the analysis of nanoparticles. Vironova revolutionizes access to transmission electron microscopy-based image analysis in biopharmaceutical development. Our solution enables automated analyses for faster and better-informed decisions to secure robust bioprocessing and final product quality.
